Mirage F1 by Kirk Olsson

Postby pfevrier » Mon Nov 30, 2009 1:02 pm

I have an issue with a freeware, the Mirage F1 by Kirk Olsson. In the VC view the windows are black, can't see through them. In 2D cockpit, no problem. In outside view, the windows appear grey.
The model was designed for FS9, by updated to work on FSX.
Does anyone else fly this plane, and if yes, do you have the same problem?
Any suggestion as to how to fix it will be greatly appreciated =)

This is a problem with the canopy texture.
The Alpha Channel needs to be inverted.
Make a search on the forum with the terms "DXTBMP" and "Alpha Channel", you will understand what I'm talking about, and what to do to fix your little problem :)

Hello,

Thank you for your answer. I just downloaded a DXTBMP program. Now I'm guessing I have to find the texture file for the cockpit. I've been looking around, but I don't really know where to search and what to search for... Any help for that as well? =)
Thank you very much!

I was reading some posts about DXTBMP, alpha channels and how to convert textures...
Do you edit the alpha channel of the texture with DXTBMP, then save, close program, reopen, and refresh inside DXTBMP, OR do you edit texture with Paint, repaint the white in darkest grey, save, then reopen texture with DXTBMP?
Thanks
