Having issues with Virtual Cockpit

Postby Frequent Flyer » Sat Nov 28, 2009 3:30 pm

Hey all,
I've downloaded a shareware version of a Yak-40 - scyakv14.zip @ flightsim.com (http://flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=81955)

I've installed it on my FSX, and it works very well: the exterior model is superb and the virtual cabin is great. The only problem I have is that the VC shows either completely black or shiny gold.

This is a FS9 model, which might be causing the problem, but it seems to me like this is just an alpha channel issue.

I'd appreciate it if someone could download and install it, and tell me if he/she is having the same issue.
If someone knows how to solve this issue it would be great of course.

Thanks in advance,
Frequent Flyer

Hello Frequent flyer,
Yes, the Yak-40 is a nice airplane. I have it installed in FSX Gold and FS9. I have the same issue in FSX. The links provided in the download have not led me to the upgrade (payware) but I did manage to install enough instruments to fly it with few problems.
I used a PFD and MFD from another FSX aircraft to map out the panel.cfg. Then replaced the glass instruments with analog gauges because the glass instuments hog up too much fame rate. It was a lot of trial and error but worth it. Perhaps someone with more knowlege can point to a better method.

This was meant as a partially functional demo to be used in FS2004 only when this version of the aircraft was out in the payware world. The company Supronov Design, is now up to at least version 2.0, if not greater.
The aircraft is not intended for FSX.

Thanks for the replies both.
Sean, I Know it is a demo for FS9 only... But it looks so good I couldn't skip trying.

Hurricane, I'll try your method. Thank you  ;)
