Water Airports Question

Postby Mistro » Fri Oct 23, 2009 1:46 am

I'm new to boat planes. I took off from JFK and landed at Peekskill (I think it's 7N2) which is a water runway. Now that I arrived, I don't know what to do. Is there supposed to be a docking area or something? I'm just floating around looking for a place to park but don't know what to look for.

Unfortunately, MS has never done much with seaports except mark them on the map and GPS.

If you want docks, and other stuff to show up at seaports, you will have to download custom scenery

Yes, and even with special sceneries, you will not be able to really "dock" your plane.
However, I would really recommend you to hunt for a pack of sceneries nammed "snow dogs tour". It's a replacement/enrichement of several little airfields/airports/seaports in Alaska. If you use an amphibian plane like the Goose, you will be able to land on the water, deplay your wheels and go up a special ramp to go into a hangar. Very cool :)

Thanks a lot for your replies! Now I don't feel so lost. Will look into those packages.

I have made a few changes to MY sim by adding scenery objects to various airports, as well as made a complete airport.... KDVI - Desert View International.

If you would like, I could throw a few items together for you and make a seaport package for you of various ports of your choice.  Just let me know.
