Reflective panel?

Postby Brett Hill 2 » Wed Jun 10, 2009 4:32 pm

I have tried changing the alpha channel from black to white etc using DXTBMP program, and the back ground of the main image in the bmp and I am still unable to get rid of the dreadfull reflectivness on my main panel in my VC. I have included a picture to show you exactly what I am seeing. If anyone knows exatchly how to change this then please please let me know as I have got a fair few aircraft which I am having the same problems with.

PC spec.

Windows 7 64bit. Using FSX Accel in DX9 mode.

I have just realised this reflective panel dissappears to the correct texture when I change my lights from on/off. But I still get it when the lights are in that certain state, I need ideas...?

It's likely an SP2 compatability issue with an aircraft compiled for FS2004. I had the same problem with my own aircraft and had to mess around to get it to work properly...it's been awhile and I cannot recall exactly how I fixed it but having the source model, it was recompiled with whatever required tweaks were added. Without the source model, unfortunately not much can be done. Might be worth trying to contact the aircraft's creator and ask nicely if they might look into correcting it. Two other ways around it are more direct but drastic, 1) don't use the VC, or 2) revert to FSX-SP1 installation.
