The Grumman Goose on the water

Postby idahosurge » Wed May 27, 2009 7:17 pm

I made my first water landing today and after I landed I could not steer the plane on the water, it would only go in a straight line.  Turning the rudder had no affect.  Pressing "Cntl W" to activate the water rudder had no affect.  Is this plane suppose to be steerable in the water?

I looked in the FSX Learning center and the information on this plane says absolutely nothing about water operation.

If all else fails, you can use the engines to steer. You want to left, increase the throttle on the right engine and visa versa.

You didn't lower the water rudders before you landed, did you? I'm not sure if that can damage them, but it might.

QUACK!

I forgot about that!

;D

I had the Beaver in my head as its always my float of choice

You can add a water rudder to the Goose in the aircraft.cfg but UU is correct, it does not have one by default

Cool Nick, I will add the water rudder and give it a try.

I got the Goose to turn on the water last night, but it is not very manuverable, but anyway I got it to turn.
