GMax Question

Postby BrandonF » Sun Apr 26, 2009 9:31 pm

How do I get to Mesh/Polygon Mode in GMax? I'm learning how to make windows and need to get to this function. 8-)

Thanks,
Brandon

Your question belongs in the Aircraft & 3D Design forum:

However, select any object in the Viewport, right click, and choose either Convert to Editable Mesh or Convert to Editable Polygon.

Before this gets moved, let me just advise you to go with Poly modeling... it's much more flexible than dealing with Meshes

The difference is that Polys accept multi-faceted polygons, while meshes are constrained to triangles... so Editable Poly mode has a lot more tools to work with, and they make your life a whole lot easier

Actually, I flip back and forth between E-Mesh and E-Poly modes many times during any project.

Some tools work better in E-Mesh mode (such as flipping individual faces or polygons). Some tools only exist in E-Poly mode.

On the whole though, I too prefer E-Poly for most work...
