Ok, I grew fustrated with all this and decided to uninstall, re-install FSX all together.

In that case, I'll simply recapitulate my earlier advice:

"In the future, be a bit more discriminating about making mass changes to your default installation..."

Nick, I only wish everyone would get the message:

Do NOT install any version of FS into the default directory (folder), especially if you run Vista...

Instead use something really short, such as:

C:\FSX
C:\FS9

etc.

Then is using Vista, rightclick on the foldername and turn off UAC and DEP  8-)
