FSX Gauge Removal Tool

Postby Dougal » Thu Mar 19, 2009 2:16 pm

In FS9 I remember using such a tool.  A little application that tested for and removed obsolete gauges.  I'd like to try it in FSX, but can't find it.

I've searched and searched various file libraries but cannot find it.

One was called something like 'Gauge Dr'.

Ring any bells????

Thanks

I never use these kind of files as they have a nasty habit of removing cab files thinking they are not gauge files.
The easiest way to get rid of unwanted gauges is to put the gauges for any addon aircraft in the panel folder and not the gauge folder. That way when you remove the aircraft you remove the unwanted gauges as well 8-)

Yes, I know that now thank you ::)

But sadly, that doesn't help me with the many hundreds of gauges I now have clogging my system :-[

Why do all the aircraft addon developers keep creating their 'zip' in a manor that will extract them to the gauge folder?

Do you have to change any addresses when you do that?

Cool idea...

BTW, Gary, I'll be moving to Jax soon.  :)
