Saiteks' Pro Flight Yoke System

Postby Daveo » Sun Jan 18, 2009 9:04 am

Hello all

I had problems installing this program until I downloaded new drivers... then it worked fine.

I have purchased the Pro Flight Yoke System and I don't have a clue what to do with all of these controls.
I mean is there a model to follow how most flight sim junkies program their controls?
In addition...
Is it just me or is every rookie 'white knuckled' attempting to control this simulator with the yoke?
My fingers are numb after I fly a mission... and sometimes lucky enough to land.

Also, getting to know where I am in relation to the runway is another frustration, let alone landing. I go up, go down 'bobble around and cannot remember where the landing strip is located.

Sure to be not alone in the beginning attempts at a new diversion.

On another note--In speaking with a PC tech today he mentioned that Microsoft is scrapping Vista.
Too many problems.
I don't like it. In my opion XP was much better.

If Microsoft does let it go, does anyone think they will send the new program to all duped Vista users?

Thanks for reading my thoughts.

I won't touch the Vista question  :-X

As far as simming realistically ? Finding runways and learning to land ?

It's kinda like learning to fly for real. If you just fire up the sim and point your airplane skyward.. you're about as likely to be successful (or learn anything), as you would be if you did that in a real airplane.

One..... step..... at..... a...... time.  :)

Start here  ;)

I have the same yoke set up and I found just programing what ever you need to the controls on the yoke and throttles. Just play around with different configurations until it is what you like. I use to mess around with it all the time but lately it has stayed the same.

when looking for the airport, you can do three things, use the gps and zoom in and out, or you can select map and go look at the map and see where things are, or third you can select another view, like top down and zoom in and out.

try this
Seven minutes is all it takes to fly this practice pattern.

This is a simple practice session incorporating airspeed control, level turns, descents and climbs. Fly the practice pattern with the FlightSim visibility and ceiling set to minimums so that you have only the instruments for reference. All later flight maneuvers will be simple once you have mastered this pattern.

Begin the flight at 1000 ft AGL, then:

Slow to approach airspeed, and fly straight and level for one minute.
Begin a descent for one minute at approach airspeed and a 500-fpm rate of descent.
Level off at 500 ft, and fly one minute at approach airspeed.
Make a level, standard-rate turn. Remember that a standard-rate turn is 3 degrees per second. Make this turn for one minute, which should result in a turn of 180 degrees.
Climb for one minute at climb airspeed and a 500-fpm rate of climb.
Here you should be at your initial 1000 ft altitude. At this point, accelerate to cruise airspeed and cruise power.
Make a standard-rate level turn for one minute, rolling out on your initial heading.
