The textures being replaced are in the main FSX texture folder and have nothing to do with scenery folders
Just an FYI.. converting DXT5 to DXT3 may have destroyed any alpha layer the texutre had, damaged bump maps and on top of that DDS flips textures upside down so if the conversion did not account for the flip there are a lot of incorrect textures in that folder now. A very large portion of the textures are DXT1 so if the conversion changed those to DXT3 then the user has increased their file size to the system instead of reduced it.
Those texture hacks do more damage than they are worth and I wish the links to the 'how to's" in using them were removed.
I tested them all when FSX was first released and found them all to be quite damaging to the title and worthless
Unless you are on hardware even FS9 would have a hard time rendering, as Phil Taylor has said, those tweaks are not doing what people think they do.
Most of the textures in that folder are DXT1 and posed no perf hit at all.. as a matter of fact, in DDS format even DX5 really does not.
