Virtual Cockpit

Postby el_777 » Wed Dec 31, 2008 4:40 pm

Hi, I have a Boeing 737-700 aircraft from POSKY. It didn't come with the virtual cockpit. I am using the default boeing 737-800 2-D panel. I was wondering how to get the default boeing 737-800 virtual cockpit into the POSKY Boeing 737-700 aircraft.

I don't believe it's possible since the VC is built into the model itself.

This is only for FS9 models.
With FSX models, you can use the VC of another FSX model.
The 737 from Posky is a FSX model, most users have assigned the default FSX 737 VC to it. I think there was a topic explaining how to do, maybe here, maybe on Posky forums, you should find them easilly.

Oh, do you simply copy and paste the model folder over to the POSKY aircraft?

Or do you know where the topic of how to convert POSKY to have virtual cockpits?

Thanks

You have to edit the model.cfg and the panel.cfg aswell.

Just do a search and you'll find a 'how-to' thread on the topic.

Let me guess, and maybe someone who really knows how will chime in.......in the Panel folder of the 737-800 for example.....there is the "panel.cfg" file which contains several entries that look like sections that begin with this string ([VCockpit01]) sequentially numbered after the first one of course.

Needed textures from the dafault model:
For anyone who is going to add the FSX VC to it, the only textures you will need are

-B737_800_1_C.dds
-B737_800_1_night_C.dds
-B737_800_2_C.dds
-B737_800_2_night_C.dds
-B737_800_3_C.dds
-B737_800_3_night_C.dds
-B737_800_4_C.dds
-B737_800_4_night_C.dds
-B737_800_5_C.dds
-B737_800_5_night_C.dds

In the aircraft.cfg:
eyepoint = 42.5, -1.55, 1.9   //Default FSX Coordinates

In the model.cfg:
[models]
normal=OSX737
interior=B737_800_interior

and copy the B737_800_interior.mdl in the model folder.

In the panel.cfg:
Copy every VC entry in the panel.cfg in your fovorite panel.cfg.
[VCockpit01]
(.....)

Cheers,
Fabian
