Austrian Alpine Soaring Mission question

Just got this game for Christmas and I am totally enjoying it.
I've got a problem though with the Austrian Alpine Soaring mission (intermediate level).

Welcome to FSX!

Since you just received FSX for Christmas, I'm betting that you have not downloaded and installed the service packs. If I recall correctly, there is a bug in that mission that the service packs fix.

Go here: http://www.fsinsider.com/downloads/Pages/default.aspx

Download SP1 and SP2 (you need both.)
Install SP1.
Run FSX and at least load the default flight.
Exit FSX
Install SP2.
Defrag your drive.
Go have fun!

I've downloaded and installed SP2 (already had SP1 when I installed the game).
I'll try that mission later.
