Where's the AI traffic?

Postby RickG » Sun Dec 21, 2008 10:21 pm

Hi. Just wondering if there's a way to determine where an AI plane is, in relationship to where I am, without trying to figure it all out by the gps co-ords.  I used to fly Falcon4 a lot, and if you picked out an AI plane, you were always centered somewhere on screen, whether it was 1 mile or 20 away. Is there something like that in FSX?  Thanks.

It looks more like you might be looking for a radar...I use Eric Marciano's F16 gauge in FSX (with SP1, think it also works in SP2). There is however a dedicated radar gauge available within FSX Deluxe edition, called radar.cab. It isn't assigned to any of the default FSX aircraft that I know of, but if you are handy with editing a panel.cfg you can easily incorporate it into whatever aircraft you wish. Unfortunately it doesn't come with the standard edition of FSX.

There is, use Traffic Explorer.

It's part of the SDK, which you need FSX Deluxe to use.

Hey Rick, I found an add on radar in the download section that works great. I have installed it in a few of my planes and will probably install it in all of them eventually.

Thanks again guys--will look into your suggestions. Am i right in assuming that the radar one gives you an actual gauge for the panel somewhere?  Traffic Explorer sounds interesting too.  Thanks again.
