location of simconnect.dll

hello,

i've been trying to install FSUIPC for a while now, and it says it can't find simconnect and refuses to install... in fact this is the error message:

Your FSX installation is incorrect! The version of SimConnect installed will not load FSUIPC4. you may need to repair the FSX installation to rectify this first

and the FSUIPC install log reads:

Code: Select all
Installer for FSUIPC4.DLL version 4.40

Looking in registry for FSX install path:
     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0
     Parameter"SetupPath"
SetupPath="C:\Flight Simulator X\"
Checking version of FSX.EXE:
... Version 10.0.61472.0  (Need at least 10.0.60905.0)
Checking compatibility with installed SimConnect:
... Probe Manifest fails to match a valid base SimConnect needed to load FSUIPC4!

so i was looking for the SimConnect module, which i believe must be lost somewhere in the wake of bad installs and a dirty windows installation... i gather if i can restore this file to it's place, FSUIPC may install without me having to reinstall FSX over again

Cheers

Just a stab in the dark, hopefully might help...copied this from the FSUIPC4 readme:

"BEFORE going on to install FSUIPC4, please note the following SEVERE
problems which have been reported by folks using third party firewall,
anti-virus, privacy and other security programs.

All of these stem from the SimConnect part of FSX, which FSUIPC4 and other
add-ons use to talk to FSX. SimConnect uses the Internet TCP/IP protocol
to talk to FSX, and the Security programs insert hooks into this path
which can adversely affect SimConnect's operation."
