Problem with several aircraft.

Problem with several aircraft.

Postby Flying Trucker » Thu Dec 11, 2008 12:03 pm

Good morning all... :)

Not sure if this was asked or not, went back several pages to see if I could find my answer, no luck.

I run FS X with SP2.

I also own Acceleration but it is not installed.

System is Vista.

Now question:  When I download from the Simviation Download site and the download says upgraded for FS X Acceleration will it work with  FS X and SP2 only?

I downloaded the Cessna 337 with upgrade but only the red white and blue aircraft shows up.  The O2 aircraft and repaints do not show and there is no sound.
I downloaded this twice to see if I made a mistake, still no sound and only one C337.

Also when I downloaded the Aero Design AC50 the beacons will not work, all other lights work and everything else seems fine.

I am wondering if there is a trade off between Acceleration or just what I am using.  It would seem most of the upgraded downloads from the Simviation Downloads do mention upgraded for FS X Acceleration.

I am trying to find a nice light twin like the C337 or some other light Cessna twin engine that uses Carburetor Heat.

Thanks in advance.    ;)

Hi Doug,

A lot of people are slightly modifying older aircraft, slapping a thumbnail image into the texture folders, making a couple slight modifications, and calling them upgraded and fixed for FSX/SP2.

But a lot of these so called fixed aircraft models still have major issues, so I personally avoid them. Besides, I sometimes do a better job myself... ;D

The sound issue could possible be caused by the sound not being aliased to an aircraft you have.

The lights may not be showing up because the effect files aren't installed

As for SP2, and Acceleration. They both include SP2, but Acceleration has a few more aircrafts, more missions, and some more detailed scenery. Other then that, they're the same. Some addons may utilize acceleration sounds, gauges, ect

Thanks Andrew for the quick reply.

Do you think I should uninstall SP2 and install Acceleration.

I think when I first installed Acceleration I was getting white blocks in the scenery when flying, I do believe that is why I uninstalled it.

Perhaps with the new Nvidia Drivers installed now Acceleration will work better or am I out to lunch on that one.    ::)

Thanks Al_Fallujah.... ;)

I don't have a C182 right now but will look for one and then download it.

I looked at the readme file and did what I think I was supposed to do but I am not runnning Acceleration just FS X SP2.

Your right the VC does not work and my 02 and C137 folders show up separately in the Sim Objects.

Thanks very much for your time and efforts.    :)

I just checked this out. The original FS9 model is by Mike Stone. It contains one variation of the Cessna 337 & one variation of the 0-2 which are configured as separate aircraft. The other variations of the 337 in the FSX update must be for repaints which are not included. None of Mike's aircraft has a VC which explains that.

The sound problem is easily fixed. You don't need to download a C182 or even have one installed to FSX. Open Sound.cfg in Notepad & point the alias to a similar default aircraft. (See my Aliasing article.) This works just the same in FSX as in previous versions of FS/CFS.

I looked at the readme file and did what I think I was supposed to do but I am not runnning Acceleration just FS X SP2.

As I understand it the update is compatible with FSX + SP2 which is installed with Acceleration. If you have SP2 installed you don't need Acceleration for it to work.

Good afternoon all... :)

Thanks one and all I have everything working right now.

I have Acceleration installed, clean install as well.

Now one thing I do notice is that the Cessna 337 which was the recent one from the Simviation Downloads does not have "Manifold Pressure Guages".  That seems a little bit strange to me but everything seems to be working great right now.

Thanks for all the input.   ;)
