Helicopters controls - Collective

Is there an axis control for helicopter's collective in FSX?  Or is it automatically "built in" with the throttle?

Your throttle axis becomes the collective in a heli.

If you have an axis assigned to 'propeller axis' (constant speed prop), that will become the 'twist throttle' in the heli.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Okay, I'll set that.  I was reading a tutorial on FlyAwaySim, I think it was, and throttle was listed  seperate from the collective.

Okay, I set the slider on my x52 for propeller axis.  I'm not sure how I'm supposed to configure the prop and throttle now.  It seems like I have to have the prop axis at full, otherwise my helicopter falls out of the sky and the RPMs drop immediately.

The heli throttle (joy stick prop axis) should be set full open for flight. The 'Rotor/PowerTurbine % RPM' must stay in the green.

The heli throttle is used to to set low rpm when on the ground and for warm-up and cool-down proceedure, to avoid 'thermal shock' damage to the turbine.

It is not used to control lift, that is done with the collective (joy stick throttle axis).

I can relate to that, I have a difficult time slowing down, stopping, hovering, and landing.  Take off and flying is fine.
