Winter Oriented Fly Locations

Postby usapatriot » Sun Nov 09, 2008 8:11 am

Well I know it's not officially winter yet, but it's starting to snow in some parts of the country and since it's not going to ever snow where I like in Miami, FL I figured I could fly around in a place where it does in fact snow and a very wintry landscape exists.

Anyone know of any good places to fly around in winter?

Alaska has everything you need. Juneau & Ketchikan are good places to start. There are also many many scenery downloads available for the area.

I suggest you to download the french altiports from the FSX Sceneries sections here on Simviation. This pack contains 4 high altitude airports with slopped runways in the French Alps, including the famous Courchevel. In winter with snow all around, it's very nice to fly in that area. And of course, those slopped runway are a real challenge for landing !
