Oops! Wrong gauge. Sorry. :-[

Try this.

Hagar the KingAir300 repairman:

That did the trick for the autofeather lights.

Hagar the KingAir300 repairman:

That did the trick for the autofeather lights.  Before I send you a panel update photo (and a VC view you won't believe) I'd like to tackle just a couple of more issues.

We seem to be almost there. :)

1st- is a good thing:  If you look closely at those earlier posts of my panel, you'll note that the left and right ignition switches are a bit out of wack.  Based on the other changes you suggested, I fixed that by adding the same KingAir_1 to guages 25 and 48.

Glad you're getting the hang of this. You'll soon be able to fix it without me.

2nd- Not so good:  Not in the panel, probably in the aircraft.cfg--Right now when I start the KA300 on runway 25 at KPHF or wherever, the default has it set with the the plane rolling forward.  I'd like it to start at idle speed with the parking brakes applied.  I can't recall how to set this.  How do we fix this?

It might not be the same in FSX but in FS9 you can set up a flight in any way you wish. Apply the parking brake (Ctrl + period) & set the power to Idle. Then bring up the menu bar & select Flights/Save Flight. Save the flight under an appropriate name. You can make this the default flight if you wish. I'm not sure if you can select flights from the FSX startup menu.

3rd: Maybe not good- On the Dual Needle RMI gauge, I'm not sure if it's intentional, but the yellow and green arrow are not right over each other.  I just noticed it looked a bit off.

This could be a bug with the gauge. I assume it's using the FSX default RMI gauge. You could try the FS9 version in the usual way. I won't guarantee it will be any different.

gauge23=KingAir_1!Rmi, 99, 151

You could do this with every occurrence of the KingAir gauge in Panel.cfg if you wish.

4th: Really not good- While the switches for the lights work, the exterior lights don't.  I see nothing blinking after setting the lights on and looking at the exterior F11 view.  After closer inspection, the landing lights do work, but none of the others do.  How do we fix this?

Open your KingAir300 folder & paste the 9 x FX files from the Effects folder to FSX\Effects.

I still am confused by the master caution light being on, but not that concerned about it now.

But, if we can tackle #2 and #4, I think we can just about finish this bout of perfectionism I'm going through.

I get the same thing with the light. Sorry but I have no idea how to fix it.

The lights are now ok after I added the files you suggested into the Effects folder.

I was able to get the KingAir to startup in idle on the runway with the parking on.

No change on the RMI, like you thought..it is what it is.  The master caution is the same, but, on my personal standard version of FSX it's probably just a "who's that fat guy in the pilot seat?" alert :)

I might be able to fix the caution light on the VC by using the FS9 default gauge. I'm still experimenting on that one.

I found two final snags:
1- If you look closely at the photo I took for a thumbnail for the texture folder within the KingAir300 folder you will see three things there:

A- While the plane is at an altitude of roughly 2000 ft for the screen shot, the yellow chocks are visible.
B- If you look closely at the 6 oclock position on the spinning propellors, you'll see a vertical red line going from center to the tip of the wing on each side.
C-What the heck are those red "tags" to the right of the copilot window, on the inboard part of the starboard engine, and at the nose?
I've drawn some crude circles and an arrow to show you:
Image

These are connected. The red line & red tags are warning flags attached to the air intake covers. They should display with the yellow chocks on the ground when the engines are shut down. I suspect it's a display bug with the FS9 animation in FSX. It might also depend on which version of FSX you have.

#2- In a closeup of the props while in flight with clouds in the background, the rotation doesn't show up white or grey, but blue:

Compare this to the Barron 58 below where the appearance is more tranparent:

I think these things might just do it.  Aparently I'll have to consult with Jared from Subway or Richard Simmons to resolve the Fat Guy In The Pilot Seat problem!  ;D

This is a typical display bug with the prop textures of FS9 models in FSX. Not sure we can do anything about it.

So I guess with those last few tweaks not really something we can easily tackle, I'd say we're about done.

Like I mentioned earlier, I'm a perfectionist, and I've even been tweaking my VC for the KingAir 300.

That second VC looks quite realistic. ;)

You might like to try this tweak for that warning light. It works for me.

[Vcockpit01]

gauge31=KingAir_1!Master_Caution,  56, 645 ,52,33
gauge32=KingAir_1!Master_Warning,  1,645,52,33

I'm sorry, that's about all I can do without being able to check things out in FSX.
