FYI I have just upgraded my nVidia drivers from 175.19 to 178.13.
My machine is mid range - Core 2Duo E6850, 4x 1Gb of Crucial generic memory, Gigabyte P35 DS3P Mobo, 500Gb SATA IDE disk, 8800 GTS 640Mb (the old one) w/22in monitor, XP Pro SP3, FSX SP2
I have not changed anything apart from the new drivers. My testbed for improvements in FSX using the default KingAir 350 is at RWY 4 KLGA in real weather using UTX USA, FEX, GEX, ActiveSky (6.5) and FEX with their 4096 SHD clouds.
I would normally get a miserable jerky 10-12FPS. Now I am experiencing a joyful 17-20 in the same situation - even over Manhatten!! I think somehow that there have been some important improvements in this version for FSX users.
Be interesting to see if they have addressed the ALT menu problem in Full Screen mode where FSX CTDs after a flight when eg running a replay of the landing..
Hey, I am a happy bunny for once!
