New, high resolution waves textures for FSX !!

Hi all, I am duplicating here a topic that I posted in the screenshot section by mistake  :-[

New high resolution (4096) textures for water reflection/waves.

Here is a simple yet effective comparison, aircraft is at the same exact position.

FSX default:

Looks stunning at low altitude  8-)

Looks good, but too much reflection for my taste.

Why use this when we have FSWC?  ;)

Because FSWC will not modify the waves, only the intensity/color of the reflections
The subject here is not about the reflections themselves, but more about the size/precision of the waves, as you can see in the comparison shots.

We are working on that now... as a matter of face the shader file does control wave height and scale and we are looking at adding sliders for this...

check payware shots "More FSWC fun" pt 1 and 2  for some of the changes we have already worked out and are testing

But why are those screenshots in the payware section ? Is FSWC going to be payware in the future ?

i see what you mean about the shimmering, but can these high resolution wave textures be used with fswc?...or shall i wait till you modify.....haven't tried fswc yet since i was more concerned with the wave size...........

its in payware because the mesh, clouds, ground, water is all payware

Sorry for bumping this topic but we have a little problem.
It seems that Gizmo, the author of those beautifull textures, has removed the archive from rapidshare. I've taken a quick look through the topic linked above to find a reason but I could not find any.

As Gizmo is participating to FSWC, I was hoping that somebody here could provide an explanation please ?

Does he refuse to provide the file any longer, or will he upload it again, or can I upload it myself to make it available again ?

In all sincerity and not intending to have a go in the slightest... One cannot or at least should not offer up someone elses software without their permission.  If he pulled the file then its not likely to be given, unless he`s making changes.  I`ve known you in here long enough to know you would not consider doing that anyway.

The question was meant to be forwarded to him. I would not have taken the decision myself of course
What I want to know is if he really intended to make it unavailable, or if there was a unexpected problem with the upload server that he would maybe not be aware of.

I'm just trying to ask here prior to register to that other forum and bother him directly.
