Weird graphics problem

Postby brettt777 » Sun Sep 14, 2008 7:55 pm

This just started happening...When I am the sim flying, I can't bring up any menu windows at all. It's like they are there but not visible. If I hit escape to get out of a flight, the menu doesn't appear even though the flight stops. And if I hit the enter key, then the flight disappears and I go back to the main menu. It's like that with instant replay or inflight video, any of them. I thought the problem was in my graphics card as I have recently changed drivers around, etc. But FS9, which uses the same kind of menus, doesn't have this problem. Anyone have any ideas?

Try modifying the settings of your video card... mainly the AA, just to test. In FS9, there was this problem with the NVidia cards, where the menus would not appear anymore if the AA was too high. Maybe it's the same here.

I turned AA for that sim from 16 down to 8. It made no difference. One thing I didn't mention before is that for instance when I hit escape to get out of a flight, it freezes up like it should but the menu doesn't appear. But when I hit enter the menu will appear just for a second before it goes back to the main menu. It actualy does this with any of the menus. Does this still sound like a graphics card problem? BTW you are correct in assuming I have an nVidia graphics card. I would love to be able to afford to go back to an ATI unit. Never had problems like this with ATI.
