It's a bit obvious DX10 GPUs and Multicore CPUs will give a performance benefit. However, Vista does not and I would like to see some solid evidence that it does.

Also, I've seen loads of posts in Avsim complaining about DX10 problems and texture issues.
Hey don't understand what you mean by "Vista? 5 Years?" thing but anyway.. how are high spec machines today which can't even run FSX on full settings be medium-end machines when FS11 comes out around 2010-2011?

Reider, how can you be sure the next OS will be out in the next 5 years? The newer versions always take longer to build than their predecessors. It's a well known fact that everything always gets delayed anyway due to bugs etc.
Windows 7, (formerly codenamed Blackcomb and later Vienna) is the working name for the next major version of Microsoft Windows as the successor to Windows Vista.[2] Microsoft has announced that it is "scoping Windows 7 development to a three-year timeframe", and that "the specific release date will ultimately be determined by meeting the quality bar."[3] Windows 7 is expected to be released late 2009 or near January 2010.[1] The client versions of Windows 7 will ship in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.[3] A server variant, codenamed Windows Server 7, is also under development.
I'm saying Vista is a hassle - why move to Vista when you're happy with XP, I just don't understand (unless you're buying a brand new PC/have money to spend (no problem with that, but I'd rather upgrade a CPU)/have lots of time in the holidays lol).
And sometimes "perfomance increases" can be due to biased opinion, pyschological reason or maybe because the new Vista installed into one's system is completely fresh and doesn't have a lot of junk/frangmented files etc. as the old OS one once had installed.
