Although "Web Help" has never been much help to me whenever I've tried it, did you click on it ans if so, what did it say?

Aside from that, it sounds like the "path" from FSX to WMP is broke.

now that I downloaded Winamp, and associated all wav files to it, all seems to work. :question  [smiley=undecided.gif]

It sounds to me like there is codec or system damage with WMP somewhere or association issues.. either way there would appear to be a system related issue that perhaps was fixed when Winamp was installed because it repaired/replaced the damaged system file(s)
