Just been doing some more work on my test airport, EGCB Barton Manchester. This has 4 runways but looks like 5 as theirs a dummy 27/09 that FSX incorrectly uses as the real thing. Long ago I stopped this and the appalling habit FSX has of using 02/20, when it should use the real 27L in the middle of the three with the opposing 09R at the other end. I added parking areas and traffic just like the real thing.

Today I took it a stage further. 25-30 planes parked in the correct place, in the light plane area. 3 helicopters to one side of RW02/20. I got the three helicopters as AI aircraft to taxi to 02 and await clearance. At the same time a good half dozen planes taxied from park to 09R to await clearance. All went well and both helicopters and planes took off, some separately and some at the same time.

I then checked incoming flights visually. The planes flew in to RW09R whilst the helicopters flew in to RW02/20. I watched as on helicopter flew in, then a minute later a plane landed on RW09R. At no point was taxiing or taking off/landing impaired between the planes and the helicopters. No zig zagging and no sat there waiting for the little so and so to hover and then fly off. All done at the same time as each other. Incoming planes went back to the light plane park, the helicopters landed, turned sharp right into the adjoining helicopter parking area/pads at RW02  ;D

Next, I`ll ad helicopters nearest the tower/fuel pump and they can use RW32/14 like the tripping helicopters do in real life. So far it runs perfect, even at 80% traffic on a 3800 Dual Core in Vista 32 bit with 2 gig memory. I may add the police helicopter at the rear of Barton yet also.
