AB380 Where Are You?

Postby Bubblehead » Sun May 18, 2008 8:54 pm

I've had a couple of Airbus 380-800 files, each with two textures which I had been playing for quite awhile. But lo and behold, they're missing in my FS files but it's still listed in the Windows Explorer. Checked the airciraft.cfg and other features and they seemed to be in order. I was not messing with these files so I don't know  what could've happened. I copied the files in storage and deleted the files in FSX until I know what's going on. Anyboady got any ideas or do I have to download A380-800 from the scratch?

At the moment I see litlle option but to wait for the Wilco version.

To have an Airbus with a 747 cockpit is to mix up two entirely different approaches to flight management.

So different that each uses their system for product differentiation.

The airbus 320 and the B737 are two similar aircraft but their autoflight systems are different as chalk from cheese.  They don't mix.

I decided to delete what I had and downloaded/installed AB380-800Mai from FSX download. Also added a couple more textures. It had the default B747_400 panel which was OK with me because its musch easier to insert inputs (speed, heading, altitude, etc.)

Abacus has one with the default GPS - ludicrous.  A 747 cockpit in an Airbus - nonsense.  I can wait.

If you want to fly an airbus go practice on Wilco Airbus 1 & 2.  2 contains the 340 which gives you a good start on a four engine version, and is a challenge in itself to fly well.

Because of Airbus's deliberate policy to have similar cockpits in all models the 380 flight deck will look just the same.  Only the numbers will be different - and the external view.

With a 747 cockpit, go and enjoy flying a 747 - a great plane in its own right.

I'm trying to select a panel appropriate for a type aircraft. For example I'm using a type panel for all four engined aircraft, another for two winged engined aircraft, turbo props and rear engined aircraft. I've selected panels which approximate the ones used by aircraft nowadays. But above all I wish to use panels whereby its easy to assigned speed, heading and altitude inputs. Some of the newer panels were just not to realistic. There does not seemed to be much style or choice panels included in the Simviation Penl Downloads.

Presently I'm using the B747_400 Panel DeLuxe Ver. 7.0. There's an Airbus 380 Panel in the Simviation Download Panel Section but I found it harder to insert inputs. However, I have it stored in my FSX Downloaded Panel file.
