Baron VC

On the baron VC, there's a square on the cockpit window, that looks like a HUD or something to me. Anyone know what it really is? thanks!

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Anti icing.  Its a heated panel.
