help

FSX including FSX Steam version.

:-[ so i was attempting to open a cfg file for insatlling a plane and i really didnt know what i was doing and tried to open it with adobe....later i found out that you are supposed to use wordpad but now i do not know how to use word pad everytime i click a cfg the adobe reader opens and i cant use that....... >:( so frustrated .....someone please help i have vista and when i right click on the file it does not give a open with option.....thanks

All you have to do is to right click on the .cfg file and then click on open with select notepad or word pad and then select the box that says all ways use this to open files of this type and that should do the trick. 8-)

thats the thing it dont give me an option for that it gives me open, cut, copy and delete those are the only options

You gonna have to go the long way round.
Click on 'Start' then 'Run' and type in there:
Notepad
Click Ok and Notepad will open.
Now click on File - Open - and browse to your .cfg file :)

Not sure how Vista works but in Xp to make .cfg files always open in Notepad:
From Windows Explorer, at the top, click on 'Tools' then 'Folder Options' then 'File Types'
Go down the list till you find 'CFG Files', click on it, then click on 'Change'
Look down the list till you find Notepad and select it - click Ok.

thanks for the advise but all i ended up doing was doing a system restore till before i messed up now everything is good......
