Something fishy going on

Postby dharris » Mon Mar 17, 2008 2:50 pm

My default flight takes me over Baneberry Tennessee.   All loads well, I have gtx, utx, and fex installed.  If I fly around for awhile and then select another aircraft, it will most times say that particular paint is not available, doesn't matter which a/c I select.  They are displayed correctly in the selection menu.  When the sim restarts after that, I still have the original plane, but it has moved me all the way over to the west coast of Africa.  Always the same spot, over water no land in sight.  I can reload a different flight and things will return to normal.  Weird.

Sounds like yr FSX folder flights in your documents is stuffed. Try inserting yr FSX disk and repair the original instalation.

This is from another forum, .....

That is usually caused by FS failing to read the sim container. There is some sort of error in the aircraft you are trying to load.

When that happens FS will reload with whatever ac was last used & move you to lat N00.00 W 00.00

Take a look at the offending aircraft, there is something wrong with it.

That was in fact the problem and now just have to find out why.
