Scenery Textures Problem

Postby J3st3r » Sun Mar 16, 2008 8:57 pm

Hello all,

Ever since I upgraded FSX to sp1 and acceleration, I have been having issues with scenery textures, especially during missions.  What happens is everything looks normal and then suddenly trees will be suspended in mid air, and some parts of the screen will seperate into solids colors or random suspended water textures.  These solid textures completely block out the screen most of the time and then disappear and reappear randomly and continually.  This makes FSX virtually unusable as you can't see what attitude you are in or where you are going.

Hopefully some of you will have an idea of what I am talking about as it is very difficult to discribe.  I will try to get a screenshot of it next time.  Anyway, I was wondering if this could be a graphics card problem.  Like I said, FSX was fine until sp1 and acceleration was added.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

ATI Mobility Radeon X1300
T2050 @ 1.6GHz (2CPUs)
Memory 1022MB RAM
DirectX 9.0c

Thanks,
Matt

Try a clean install and put the third party stuff on last.

FSX>Acceleration>third party

Don`t put SP1 on separately, Acceleration is all you need.  You need to start FSX to a scenario and then exit after you install it, then do the same after Acceleration, before putting on third party stuff.  Plenty of defrags too, space defrag x 2 with a reboot between and then name defrag x 2 with a reboot between.  Then read through the forum on how to tune FSX up for the best settings.  Any shortcuts and you`ve only got yourself to blame.

I don`t think you can expect a lot with those specs but it should at least work properly this time.  The video card, cpu and the memory is weak.
