White flashing screen with Light Bloom

Postby rikm12345 » Sat Feb 09, 2008 8:49 am

Hi,

I have recently installed SP2 Acceleration and have started getting Flashing, flickering white screen issues with Light bloom enabled.

Does anyone else have this problem??
if so is there anything that will cure it?

IS this problem related to SP2 or Acceleration or is it a video card/driver issue?

I have previously upgraded, now on a P5K mobo, Q6600 CPU, 8800GT GPU.

The problem only seems to happen with certain Aircrafts, i.e PMDG 747, Wilco 737 & 777 etc..

The default 747 & 737 seems fine and runs ok with Light Bloom on.

Regards

Rik

Just read the thread on p3 about Dreaded Whitouts,

I have 169.14 drivers installed, should i uninstall and use 169.04 or higher?

If you guys are talking about the white flicker when you switch to the 2-D panel, it's because the game has to load the gauge XML's.

This is a different White flashing, it makes the screen all white in different views.

I would just like to know of anyone else with this issue with SP2 using add-on aircrafts with light bloom enabled.

thanks

The light bloom is not compatible with the FS9 addons. You will get a completely blank screen in the game, as well as in the aircraft selection preview window. Only solution is to turn light bloom OFF.

Screen flickering can also be linked to cockpit tooltips, if I remember well. Try deactivating them.

Anyone??

Is this a common problem, if so i'll not bother reloading FSX.

Starting to feel like im the only one having the problem  :-/  in which case i'll start a fresh install.

I have the problem with my Wilco 737 & 777, CLS A340 & PMDG 747 and a few more.
