I've been cleared for take-off and a second or two later had an incoming cleared for landing but the incoming was 5 or 6 miles out not 100 feet. Maybe a glitch? Does this happen often? And if so, does it happen at several airports or just one?
That happens in real life in US. ATC often clear a plane for takeoff while a landing is only a few miles out. Heard a story that when British Airways first started to come to KPHX the controllers did this often and BA complained every time about how it wasn't "save" or something like that. That practice was unheard of in the UK. They've since gotten used to it. ;D Since wake turbulence doesn't apply to a landing aircraft wile another is taking off its perfectly safe to do that. Helps speed things along.
However the original question seems to just be a glitch about who has what authority or something. FS ATC wont clear someone to takeoff or land just cause your too slow, I've had 737's pass me while I'm in a maule and the 737 is told to go around. I've also had multiple aircraft wait for me to land while I was in a similar single prop plane.
