SDK help

Postby shaka » Sat Jan 26, 2008 3:04 pm

Hi,

I have FSX and the Acceleration expansion and i have installed the Accelaration SDK.

but in the setup it tellsme to change the dll.xml which can be located in
:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX folder

but i do not have an "application Data" folder anywhere on my computer becausse i searched for it and no results were found. enither do i have FSX.dll or dll.xml

so if i created the application data folder then would this make the SDK work?

please help. what i really need is the object placement tool to work so i can create missions i have been trying to follow the instructions printed in "PC Pilot" but i mised the very first issue...

You need to go into the control panel/folder options, View tab if there and turn on 'Show hidden files and folders'.  Then it and others will become visible.  This is the Vista method, XP should be similar.

Its always helpful to tell people your specs, OS and if you have Deluxe and Acceleration.  If you have FSX, SP1 and SP2.....SDK, SDK SP1a and SDK SP2 or Acceleration inc SDK Acceleration version.  All make a big difference and its just one big guessing game without the clear details.

i was unsure because i wasnt trying to design an aircraft only a mission.

Ive managed to get it working thanks to you guys :)
but i have now only 1 problem...

how to i get my created scenery to stay with the mission and not only appear when i load it in the object placement tool?

Microsoft Xp SP2
FSX Deluxe w/ Acceleration
Acceleration SDK
dont know what graphics/video/sound or any other cards that i have got but im running it with quite high specs.

thanks

I haven`t used it, but their must be a way to save it as a mission file.  So it retains all the component parts.  Their should be some form of instruction included that tells you how to achieve it.

the SDK help file doesnt tell and the pcpilot just assumes that you know how to save it into the mission.
there is a merge scenery option in the objec placement tool but i am unsure of its uses. also ive read something about a BLG compiler and i am unsure if this is what i need.
if someone was willing to finish off my mission then i could easily send it to them.
