LONG load time, Bad Preview Textures

My newly installed FSX is taking forever to load a flight.  it jumps to somewhere in the 30s and then progresses very slowly, taking 6-8 minutes to load, both in free flight and missions.  My sim is brand new-  FSX Deluxe installed a few days ago, followed an hour later by Acceleration.  Only add-ons installed are some freeware repaints and the Wilco Airbus, as well as FSUIPC4.  
System Specs: Vista, DirectX 10, 3GB system RAM, 1.3 GB graphics ram, NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430.

Also...My aircraft seem to be showing up in the preview window with yellow and black lines instead of textures.  The textures display normally once the flight (finally) loads.  

This problem is frustrating because I have had FS for less than a week!  Any help, suggestions, or ideas greatly appreciated!

Only thing I can think of right off would be either a bad graphic card, corrupted graphic drivers or graphic card incompatibility with something in Vista (long shot but you never know with Vista). Did it just happen after working OK or is the first time you have had FSX installed?

It worked ok at first and has gotten worse-- it was never great but more like 1 min, not 10.
