Thanks again Nick:  I will simply pass on your post to him.  He is as familiar with your name now as I am.  I won't be going back to him for the upgrade until after Christmas, but my best recollection is that he was offering an upmarket SATA RAID controller (pricey in Australian dollars).  There will be a new mobo to handle the new CPU, so I will ensure that only the best RAID controller is installed.

FSX is an addiction as bad as gambling, alcohol and illicit drugs.  Why else would grown people spend so much money on computer upgrades, and sit for hours in front of their screens tracking make- believe aircraft.  Sigh.

I will give you a bank account number to make a deposit in and then will drop ship in a system that will make sure you are stoned to the begezus on smooth flying, high res FSX for at least a year and ready for an upgrade, without replacing the entire rig, at the end of that time.    :D





Have him give you the tech details about the controller.. a website would work too. I will look it over. Dont give him anything I posted till I look it over. If it looks good, go for it.. if not I will make better suggestions from there. If I have a link to his supplier or what brand he is working with I can look over what is available to him and make a recommendation.
