I Lost the oceans

I installed Acceleration and Flight Deck 5 and now I have no ocean textures.  I have nice green fields with trees off the coast of Honolulu.  There is probably a simple fix but, sorry for my ignorance, I am not sure how to proceed.  I do not want to reinstall FSX if I don't have to.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would uninstall Acceleration. Boy am I ever glad I did not get this package The number of problems that have been posted about Acceleration or unbelievable. This one program has caused more problems than any other FS addon that I have seen. And these are only the one we see here in this forum it makes me wonder who else is having problems. 8-)

List the add-ons you have installed

I will bet one of them is Ultimate Terrain X

if so, go here and get the patch http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_p ... ?TID=23111


and follow the instructions which will restore the water





and lets not bad mouth acceleration. 90% of the issue are add-on, hardware or driver related... or just plain dumb user error

I think you'll find there are a lot more people who aren't having problems with Acceleration; the people who do have problems make up 90% of the posts about Acceleration.

Many thanks to those who replied.  I do appreciate your help.

I do have UT installed.  I applied the patch with no success.  

I uninstalled Acceleration and that fixed the problem.

I guess I will just consider Acceleration and $30 donation to Microsoft.

Its not Acceleration its UTX and MS will not be able to fix that

are you running VISTA? If so you can blame MS because the stupid VISTA security system is probably not allowing the proper config writes the patch changes and needs to be run under ADMINISTATOR rights to allow the edits to take place.

If you are using XP then I would suspect the issue would be resolved with a clean install of FSX, boot the sim, close reboot the compuetr, then install  SP2 acceleration, boot the sim, close and rebott the computer... and NOT until the defaults are installed, install UTX or other addons applying the proper patches. I do assume you got the correct patch. there is one for UTX USA and one for USA+Canada

Okay, tatto "stupid" on my forehead.  I did not read all of the instructions for applying the UT patch.

I re-installed acceleration, applied the UT patch, and completed the fix per instructions.  Everything works great now.

Once again, many thanks for all of your assistance.
