Wing vapor and afterburner smoke color problem

Postby Fsx flyer » Fri Nov 23, 2007 2:42 pm

After I reinstalled FSX after it just would not work, I installed all my addons and I went on to fly, but this is what I got.

Is there a simple solution to fixing this? I can't simply repair the installation because everytime I do that, FSX just doesnt respond. It will crash before starting. I do have access to another computer with correct vapor and smoke. So if I figure out what to replace, I could take it and use a jump drive.

I know I could do that, but I would loose all of the effects for my addon planes. Do you know which files in specific I could replace to fix this?

How can you loose your addon textures and effects? They are stored in different files. Just paste the original effects folder and it will replace the _default_ files. You can still make a backup copy if you worry.

Then where are the addon effects stored?

Then where are the addon effects stored?

In the same folder but  with differet filenames. When you overwrite everything it will just replace you default effects and textures, but it will not delete any addon files. Make a backup copy of the folders before just in case.
