Moving traffic on roads?

Postby Y » Sun Oct 28, 2007 11:44 am

I'm not seeing any traffic on roads I think I have them activated in the display menu. Can anyone advise me on this?

How widespread is the traffic normally?

TRaffic isn't very widespread. It only shows up on some of the major roads. Genneraly major higways, but sometimes more narrow two lane roads have it also.
I'm guessing, when you say you've enabled it on the display menu, your reffering to the traffic density slider. As long as thats set to some kind of percentage, traffic should be showing.

Yes I am moving the traffuc slider to the right, I've even set it to 100%.

May I ask, if you can tell me where in the FSX world near what airport you have seen moving road traffic. I will go and check if I can see traffic?

Regards

I don't remember any right next to the airport off hand, though I do know there are some if anybody else wants to speak up.

I do know if you take of from Chicago O'hare (KORD) and fly towards downtown Chicago, you should pass over some major highways that I have seen traffic on.
If your unfamilliar with the area, Downtown chicago is East and slightly south of the airport along the shores of Lake Michigan.  You quite often can't see the alot of the buildings when you first take off, but the sim starts to draw them fairly soon has you fly east.  I'd take a heading of 90 to 100 degrees to start and adjust visualy has the skyline appears.
Hope this helps. It's a short flight of mabey 10-15mins by cessna, and I know for a fact I have seen cars on some of the highways.

Or, if you want traffic on just about every road, you could pick up Ultimate Terrain X.  Among the many other things it adds, it adds moving traffic to most of the roads in the sim.

I'm happy now thanks I took the 15min flight and saw the ground traffic, hey what have they done to I think chicargo airport right on the lakeside, oh dear what was it called now?

Mobius, I have thought about getting VFR Scenary by just flight or generation x scenary by horizon as I live in the u.k. But at the moment I am just trying to find out which is the best. If anyone else has any thoughts it would be much appreciated.

Hi steve595,
Actually, Meigs Field is still in FS10. However it is grown up in sapplings and the runway is lacking. It is a terrible site. You can land there if you are careful or in a copter.

But good news. I found a scenery file that reestablished Meigs Field. To h--- with the Mayer. I now fly in and out of there quiet ofthen. It even has a couple of AI planes there at certain times of the day. I just couldn't give up the FS98 flights into Meigs, and who says that it is not natural to have it back? It's distruction was a surprise to several pilots, so, so is the re-construction!

Don't know where I found the re-construction file, but it should be easy to find.               :)DB

Yeppers, very easy to find. Don't know how it slipped by me.

For anyone else who wants it, it can be found here:

Thanks for the heads up! I used to stand over by the planetarium and watch the planes, and have been angry with Daley for quite some time for tearing it down.
guess where my new default flight is getting set up at..... ;D
