fsx add on aircraft problem

Hi guys,
i have just got fsx this morning and was able to play it fine with the planes it comes with [deluxe edition] but when i install an aircraft [non auto and auto install] it comes up in the correct shape but completly silver instead of having the proper textures, i have checked and made sure that all planes are in the airplane folder and they are, although when i put a camsim aircraft the textures work completly fine, can someone tell me whats going wrong and if this is common?
