FSX Mojave Scenery problem

Postby caulkie » Sat Sep 22, 2007 6:53 pm

Hi.

First off, great forum's, I've had a read of some threads and you guys all seem to know your stuff sooooooooo.........

I have loaded the Mojave scenery file to my scenery folder and set it as top of the list on the scenery section in FSX but it will not show when I load FSX  >:( I'd be grateful if someone could provide the answer or at least join me with an "Hey that happens to me mate......."

Also..... (cheeky I know)..........

I have a dual screen setup on a Nvidia 8800GTX and was wondering how do I spread FSX over both screens?  the reso of the screens is 1440x900.

Also.............. (pushing my luck I know).............

Has anyone downloaded the RAF C-17?  Its a 2004 plane (recent 2004 not old 2004) and it laods the lights and sound but not the actual body.  Anyone come across this?

Cheers

It's a 2004 plane that isn't compatible with FSX, just the way it is.  Sorry, can't help you with anything else (or your dual screens  :D)

I tried the same scenery, same results, nothing. The extracted consists of a single small .bgl, maybe missing texture files? Anyway, I happened to come across another Mojave airport scenery for FS2004. I installed it and was very pleased. Just for the heck of it I installed it in FSX it looks great too. You might give a look!  Located on page 98 scenery for FS2004. Sorry, don't know how to do a link.

Ref. the Mohave scenery (Mohave.zip):

The author failed to mention that the objects he placed (static aircraft) are called from an add-on object library. You must have this object library installed and activated in FSX to see the objects.

The object library is the 'FlyTampaStaticAircraft_lib' that is included in the Rwy12 Library Collection #2

These are FS2004 object libraries and work fine in FSX.

If you do download, follow the instructions to install folders and files of the 'Static Objects Library' into your sim. Don't forget to add and activate it in your FSX Scenery Library manager.

You do not need the Rwy12 program and do not need to install any of the files destined for the Rwy12 program folder.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Thanks Dave

Well that explains it all. I don't know how many times I downloaded and tried to get that Mojave package to work. I finally gave up. I think I'll just wait till a Mojave scenery package with a simple install comes along.  It would be nice to have a little more to look at out there in that barren desert.
