I have seen a lot of posts asking this question as i have asked myself and could never get a staraight answer,well i have tried it myself,i have also put a pair of raptors at 10,000 rpm as my boot drive with only the operating system and fsx and the differnece is very noticable, i also have a 4gig memory stick running as ready boost.

The preformance increase in going from 32bit to 64bit is not noticable in FSX since it's a 32bit application. You may get one or 2 extra FPS because of the extra RAM (I did when going from 32bit which only recognized 3.2GB to 64bit which recognized the 4GB)... but not more. Still, I think people should move to 64bit because there will be some 64bit games out soon. And there are already some video, 3d and image editing programs that take advantage of the 64bit processors' capabilities.
