Help Please

Brand new to flight sim and I am really starting to enjoy flying in a simulator game the only thing which is bugging me at the moment is when I am downloading planes for FSX most of them do not appear in the game although they are in Program Files/FSX/Sim Objects/Airplanes I must be doing something wrong and would like someone with some experience of downloading planes to explain what to do
                 Ps Sorry new to this forum too and have put my question in the wrong section i think

Your post is in the right place. As for the aircraft you installed are they for FSX? I have read that not all fs9 aircraft will work in FSX. Also make sure that the down loaded aircraft are not for AI use or not just repaints. Each air craft need the following folders MODEL SOUND PANEL TEXTURE each aircraft also needs a aircraft cfg file. Most repaints will have textures only so will not show up as a flyable aircraft nor will they show up on the select aircraft list.

If this is not the case give us an example of a aircraft  and where you downloaded it from and someone will check it out for you. 8-)
