variantsRemoving Plane versions/variants?

I like to download planes for both FSX and FS2004 from Simviation. I've got LOTS of them....but some come with MANY variants/versions of the same plane. Mot of the time the cockpits are the same but the outside texture is different. Is there a way to select one variant/version of the plabe and remove all the others? I'f like to have one plane to select, not 10+...thus cleaning up my aircraft selection files. Is the a set of written instructions domewhere to accomplish this?

Install all the variants.

Delete the folders of the variants you don't want.

Delete the aircraft.cfg entries of the variants you don't want.
