Hey, what's with the edit? I use my own personal FTP and I use my own bandwith. Unless you guys have gigs and gigs of bandwith you don't mind using up, I don't see why I can't host it. But a link's acceptable? The file size and dimensions met your specifications.

Please elaborate...

The SIMV signup page clearly states that all images must be uploaded ...... along with several reminders in other parts of the site eg. http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 1136648799

Uploading images ensures that any problems that may arise on other sites do not cause  knock on effects here on SIMV..... ie broken links ..... sites taken down ..... and oversize and overweight images slowing peoples connections down (not everyone is on DSL or Cable). You may have your own site and your own images on that site, if you wish to link to them then that is fine ..... just use the URL.

I think DX10 will be more about Lighting and increases in object radius and density. Nothing AMAZING.

Dream on pal. ::)

I've already stated what I still think about the employment of DX10 and the difference it will mean. I'm not going to repeat myself, I only would like to point that FSX was built around DX9, how much do you think will a patch be able to change things under the point of view of graphic department?

That and, well, even if you people of the FSX tribe don't like to have it remembered, and I'm talking mainly for myself here, but a flight simulation is not composed only of graphics, no matter how good this is. I use them both, and can't really tell the difference between the dynamics of FS9 and FSX.

The only thing that strikes as really different is that finally in M$ they put a little (and not so much more) work in updating the dynamics of the default planes, just to give the impression, when coupled with the Active Camera-like head lag, that the dynamics are better. You wise up to this lame trick as soon you install a for you familiar add-on plane. :P

That and, in the end, to have a simulator a little more nice to see.. to buy and use that bug fest named Win ME V2... naaah. Not for this unworthy one. ::)

There's but one real cure for human stupidity. It's called DEATH.

At the moment mourning the assassination of sarcasm and irony for the good of the "higher".

I have no delusions that DX10 will be that "magical", but it will surely improve an already superior sim.

As for flight dynamics and head lag... they're not related. I've minimized or eliminated the that in all my planes. Where I see the biggest improvements are in ground-effect transistion, turbulence and how the plane  feels  during coordinated vs un-coordinated turns, botth climbing and descending and of course cross-controlled X-wind landings.. Sometimes I sit back with one hand on the yoke, one on the throttle, feet dancing on the pedals,  during a turning climb-out and am just amazed at the new realism as I try to fly it as though it were a checkride... nailing Vx and coordinating the turn in gusts  :)

What I wish they'd work on, is making slipping more realistic... as in.. being able to really lose altitude without much airspeed gain. Sure, you can set up a nice slip, but there needs to be something in the flight algorithm that really bumps the drag in proportion to the slip.

Maybe in FSXI   :)

It may have come loaded with DX10 but it doesn`t use it in the flight sim.  FSX needs patching to use it first when allied with a DX10 Video Card, later in the year.

Not being cynical, just a teak weary realist.  I'll believe it when I see it, and I'll judge it then.  And my setup is a 6700 CPU and an 8800GTX.

DX9 and DX10 compare

It comes down to Aces and what they put into the patch. DX10 can still look just like DX9 with better performace or it can be a dog after they get through stuffing the code past what hardware can do (as usuall) and then say its designed for the next generation of hardware.

Its not DX10 that makes it look better, its the game manufacture and how they make DX10 work for them.
