i am new to fs, i have tries do download ad-on aircraft, i cant get fsx to recog. them, i placed the extracted file into progam files down to aircraft, as you can tell i know nothing about computers, think you could help?
Almost all add-ons come as a .zip file. You must first Extract the files before placing them into FSX. The way I do it is to create a folder on my desktop labeled "Sim". Then I save the .zip files to that folder. Once they have downloaded, right-click on the .zip file and select "Extract All". Once it has been extracted, 99% of all add-ons have a ReadMe.txt, ReadMe.doc, Instructions.txt, etc... Open those files with Notepad and follow the instructions.
Excellent advice. Just to point out that FSX has no default Aircraft folder like previous versions of FS. Install your addon aircraft to the FSX\SimObjects\airplanes folder.
