TreeX

Postby Bubblehead » Tue May 08, 2007 7:05 pm

I downloaded "TreeX" which is suppose to enhance graphics quality as it pertains to countryside scenery. I hesitated to install it because I was not sure what ultimate effect it will have. The "Read Me" file was somewhat brief and I did not understand the framerate requirements for the three versions. I'm familiar with the FSX framerates which go from 0 to unlimited but I don't know anything about a 512x512. Has anyone had any experience regarding this add-on software? Also what do you guys think of the "Megascenery Add-ons" software for sale?

Well I installed it and the trees look great. I have every setting at the highest quality. It didn't effect my frame rate any that I noticed. I'd say try it out. If you don't like it you can always uninstall it. It backs up all your files so you don't have to worry about messing anything up.

All I have to do is pick out one of the three folders and load it in the FSX Texture, correct? Which one did you select of the three? And how does one uninstall it correctly if need be?

Wow that looks great.  I may go for it now.  Does it have varying colors for the different seasons?

Bob70:

I downloaded TreeX and unzipped it. But when I clicked on the folder HIFi, I get a whole bunch of files. Shall I simply install these in the Main FSX Texture folder? You seemed to be talking about a program whereby one can install or uninstall. Maybe I downloaded the wrong thing although I downloaded from the Simviation Utility Download.

Remember that we have been advised that SP1 will need the original textures.  So if you hack the autogen with something like Ian Thatcher's resized install, or trees x, be prepared to go back to the originals for the SP.  I for one intend to unistall FSX, do a clean install, and then install the SP.  Plan ahead guys it should be next week, or the week after, or ......
