Hello.Iv'e been playing this game since it came out,and have been adjusting my pc for it.I make short trips, because long ones are out of the question, due to lack of memory i think(thats what i need help with).my system cannot support 2-3 gb of ram, simply of the type i have.3-512's
is about all i can do.looking at my specs is it worth it putting another in there?.On longer trips i set them lower.I can get 512mb stick of pc3500(kingston)DDR for $50.cannot afford to upgrade to new mobo, cpu etc until i get bonus from work.

Windows XP Pro SP2
Amd 64 2800(overclocked to 2.17mhz)
Kingston Hyperx Dual channel PC 3500(2x 512)433mhz DDR
DVD
DVD Burner
Geforce 6800 GS(Overclocked to 411/1100)
Gigabyte k8ns Nforce 3 mobo
audigy sound card
160 gb Hdd(regular Ide-not SATA)

Any advice to buy different parts to help system is appreciated. Also thanks for the monitor fix.I play 1440x900 all the time and that really helped.

You and I have very similar systems, and the same mobo.  I think another 512 is about the best thing you can do in this situation.  I too went from 1Gb to 1.5Gb and while I can't say I was blown away performance wise, I think it's plenty of RAM provided your system is properly configured.

I think that we're both stuck with these computers until our funds allow for a total system replacement.  A faster processor would probably yield the best results, but it's just not cost effective as the upgrade that would match these boards would only add a few hundred MHz.  Best to save and put towards a new rig.

But I think adding the 512 should at least get you to the end of the year when some of the new cards and components of Summer come down in price a bit.
