Why cant i save cfg doc?

Hello trying to install posky 747 and when i edit the cfg i cant save it any ideas?

P.S. just tried itsall the taxi thing and cant save a panel doc either ???????????
Have done it loads of times in fs2004 dont know what im doing wrong here it says the pathname is incorrect

Your running on Vista too? Happens to me when I try to save a .cfg... it says

'Cannot create the file C:\Blah\Blah\Blah\Plane\panel.cfg, make sure the path and filename are correct'

As a quick solution what I do is open up a blank new notepad, copy and paste the origional .cfg, edit it and then save it in my Documents as whatever it was before, e.g. aircraft.cfg (makesure you do the .cfg!) Then simply drag and drop the new .cfg from your Dcuments into the aircraft folder, and it should ask you if you would like to overright the file, just click yes and it should have worked.

Well thats my longwinded way to getting around the problem, does anyone know how we can make this a hell of a lot easier for Vista users?  ::)

with vista , right click on the aircraft folder/left click properties/click security/click add/type in name you use to log on your computer/ click apply....this works for me.

Maybe I should have said right click the Airplane Folder...Left click Properties....Left glick Security....Left click ADD... Type the name you use to log on your Computer... Then click Apply

Ok did that it works now but i did the whole simx folder ,i thought being the admin this would have been a given right off the bat but microsoft works in mysteriuos ways 8-)

I wouldn't have used the adjective "mysterious" after seeing what they have "fixed" in FSX

I'm Glad I can Help ......You can also do that with the Program Folder.
