Outside scenery flashes white intermitently.

FSX including FSX Steam version.

Outside scenery flashes white intermitently.

Anyone else run across this problem?

The outside scenery flashes white after entering cockpit view from the chase view.

Heres what I'm running on:

Pent D duo, 2.8 ghz
4 gb PC4200 RAM
Windows Vista (Prob happened before upgrade from XP as well)
6800 Ultra Graphics card

Other than the annoying problem as stated above the game actually runs very well with reasonable cuts in settings.

Global is maxed out
Scenery Complexity at very dense
Autogen at normal
water textures at first detent
Commercial,GA and airport traffic at 25%
Cars, ships, and pleasure boats at 10%
weather at minimal

I've done a few of the tweaks to the sim also.

I noticed this was really pronounced when I first had the demo before SimX was released.

Thanks in advance

Keni

Already tried a different (older/newer) driver?

I am using a 8800GTS and I see the same thing.  It almost looks like a camera or lightning flash.  Maybe it's a Nvidia problem.

same thing with me. only mine will freeze up when i change cockpit views or change radio frequencies, or do anything by clicking for like 5 seconds with a white background. its really annoying when you are about to land, and you do a click command, and when its frozen, time passes, and then when it comes back, you are overshooting the runway!

I've seen  it with my ATI X1600 Pro. Seems to be related to the weather. Whenever
there is a haze or low clouds. I've not seen it recently but have no idea if I tweaked
something to make it disappear.

You said you had done some tweaks, have you done the bufferpoolsize tweak? If so, then what value is it on, if not then try with a value of 5000000-10000000. I would interpret your problem as the scenery needing to be reloaded due to an insufficient buffer.
