Flexing wings ?

Postby Capman » Tue Jan 30, 2007 1:19 pm

Does anyone can help me ?

I did check the box "Advenced animations" in the display option menu, but my glider as well as the 747 still showing their wings flexing down ...
On the 747, I can see only the animated parts such as flaps and spoiler flex up according to the flight, but the wings themselves don't move a pixel ...

I have a Geforce FX 5200, 128 Mb, AGP 4X.

They talk about "pixel shader 2.0", How can I know if my card support that and/or is that activated ?

a) Your 5200 should have Shader 2.0 support.

b) Not every aircraft has flexing wings. It's a model "problem" (if it's any at all!).

I know that all the models don't have this fonctionnality, but there are few screenshot of the glider (the stock glider) whit the wings flexing up ... Mine just don't ... I'll see if I can have a picture of the 747 with wing "semi flex-up, semi flex-down" ...

Make sure you have Advanced Animations under the GRAPHICS tab ticked.

Are you also having issues with jetways, and white taxi/runway signs during the day? Try opening your display.cfg file in the main FSX folder, find your FX5200 card entry and change "Shader20Plus=0" to =1

I did this with my FX5500 and that took care of it except it seemed to take a fps hit.

For the taxi signs, I don't know, but sometimes with some aircrafts, when I turn on the lights, the main body appears white ...

This is only logical.

Imagine the Shaders being your car's turbocharger. If you remove it, your car will perform worse.

That tip should be a sticky. A lot of people are in the same boat as I was. Who knew the water actually looked like water!?
