DX9c

Anyone with AC97 sound be careful with the demo, you could find the DX9c loaded by the demo (without asking permission) reduces sound levels on other apps. It also affects Media Player available sound levels.

Many bad things I read about 9c !!

"Idiots" >:(

Hi
You do know Msoft updates DX9 every 2 mths, check out the Directx page the last update was this mth I think
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... layLang=en

the update is only minor patchs for new hardware ect but sometimes it can fix a problem form one ver to another,so maybe next update will fix your issue then again maybe not :)

Without Direct X 9.0c the game wouldn't run. All the shaders wouldn't work, or they would run slow. Many effects wouldn't run too.
Oh and vid cards with shaders 3 wouldn't run.

DX9C is ESSENTIAL and without it we would be just using fs9. If you don't want 9.0c you can't run fsX full version.

I didn't notice either straight away, it was only under specific conditions with other apps inc FS9, CFS2 & 3, I realised I could no longer push levels to distortion as I could before.

I think there is approximately a 5~8dB difference, on this system anyway.

Not normally a problem, except as in my case when manufacturing sounds this change is a damn annoyance. Well done MS for that one.  >:((fools)

Can't get DX rollback for 9c either >:(

System restore, as usual, buggers up slave drive folder structures >:(

I guess some of the speculation on hardware ugrades is probably going to turn out true.

I still have the opinion that for non-combat FSX has a lot of potential, however it would be nice if for once microsoft would throttle themselves back a bit and stop rushing. Pay more attention to O/S related issues aswell.
